How this is worked out
The numbers you type are added together and divided by how many there are, giving the arithmetic mean. Commas, spaces and new lines all work as separators.

Assumptions and limits
- This is the mean. The median and mode are different kinds of average, and a mean is easily distorted by one very large or very small value.
- Anything that is not a number is ignored rather than treated as zero.
- Results are shown to four decimal places.
