How this is worked out
Income above your plan's threshold is charged at the plan's rate: 9% for Plans 1, 2, 4 and 5, and 6% for a postgraduate loan.

Assumptions and limits
- An annual estimate. Payroll deducts against a weekly or monthly threshold, so irregular pay gives a different total.
- Only the plan you select is calculated. Someone repaying an undergraduate and a postgraduate loan pays both.
- Interest and the outstanding balance are not modelled, so this does not say when the loan clears.
