EV Range Calculator
Estimate an electric car's range from its battery size and efficiency.
Estimated range
333km
- Estimated range
- 207 miles
Estimate assumes the battery capacity and efficiency you enter. Weather, speed and heating affect real range.

How this is worked out
Range in kilometres is usable battery capacity ÷ consumption per 100 km × 100, then converted to miles.
Worked example
- 60 kWh usable
- 18 kWh per 100 km
60 ÷ 18 × 100
333 km, about 207 miles
Assumptions and limits
- Uses usable capacity, which is smaller than the headline battery size because of the buffer the car reserves.
- Assumes constant consumption. Cold weather, motorway speeds, heating and load can cut real range by 20% or more.
- Assumes charging from full to empty, which is not how most people drive.
