How this is worked out
Room area is length × width. The waste allowance is added on top, and the same figure is also shown in square feet at 1 m² = 10.7639 ft².
Worked example
- Room 4 m × 3.5 m
- No waste allowance
4 × 3.5 = 14 m²
14 m², which is 150.7 ft²
Assumptions and limits
- Assumes a rectangular room. Bays, chimney breasts and alcoves need measuring separately and adding.
- Packs are sold in fixed coverage, so you will normally round up to whole packs after this figure.
